VietNamNet Bridge - Voluntary activities have actively contributed to helping young people, including students and pupils, become mature and gain more practical experience, according to a conference held in Hanoi on September 19 to review the youth volunteer campaign in 2007.
The campaign was implemented in 8,119 precincts and communes in remote areas with special difficulties. Young volunteers assumed different tasks of boosting socio-economic development in these far-flung areas. |

The meeting, which was the first one of its kind to be held in 40 years, was attended by Education Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, as well as representatives of 64 education departments and high schools for gifted students nationwide. |

 | | Pham Van Dong University in the future | VietNamNet Bridge - PM Nguyen Tan Dung has recently approved the establishment of two new universities, the University of Economics and Industrial Technology and Pham Van Dong University. The universities will upgraded from junior colleges which are now located in Nam Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces, respectively. Pham Van Dong University, in particular, has received financial and other support from Shobhit University in India.
