VietNamNet Bridge - Ho Chi Minh City authorities Wednesday agreed on a three-year, US$100-million project to prevent flooding of city streets after an urgent meeting between HCMC People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Nguyen Trung Tin and municipal agencies. At the meeting, one official said flooding caused by high tides is worsening due to rapid urbanization in city suburbs and rising sea levels. |

VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnam Fund in Support of Children granted Phu Dong scholarship to talented children in Hanoi on October 16. The scholarships were sponsored by Comvik International Vietnam AB-Sweden company.
Twelve young scholarship winners from Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Son La provinces, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City were given VND4.5 million each to study in the fields of culture, sports and physical training, and arts. |
