Overseas Vietnamese artist opens “confession” exhibition

VietNamNet Bridge – An original installation art exhibition titled Sins of a Viet Kieu by overseas Vietnamese artist Kelly L.Le is taking place at Hanoi’s first installation art gallery, Ryllega, 1 Trang Tien Street.

Kelly said she so named her exhibition because she had returned to Vietnam full of confidence and a little bit of pride and become a stranger in the eyes of the people around her. Her prejudices and pride that created distances between her and others are her “sins.”

Exhibited works express in a touching way an overarching theme: a yearning to prove one’s self and approach other people.

Graduating at the top of her class in both literature and sculpture education in the US, Kelly.L .Le received a Fullbright scholarship and is now working in HCM City.
