Talented children receive Phu Dong scholarships

VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnam Fund in Support of Children granted Phu Dong scholarship to talented children in Hanoi on October 16. The scholarships were sponsored by Comvik International Vietnam AB-Sweden company.

Twelve young scholarship winners from Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Son La provinces, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City were given VND4.5 million each to study in the fields of culture, sports and physical training, and arts.
This was the first time the fund provided scholarships to talented children.

Vu Anh Dao, director of the fund, said in the coming period more scholarships will be provided as part of a cooperation deal signed between the Vietnam Fund in Support of Children and Comvik company. Accordingly, Comvik will spend VND54 million on scholarships for 12 talented children each year from 2006 to 2009.

The Phu Dong scholarship aims to assist and encourage talented students to promote their talents to serve the country.
