Raising the expertise of the labor force is not only the responsibility of the Vietnamese Government but also of investors, the company’s representatives told the press.

As planned, two Hon Hai plants in northern Viet Nam’s Bac Giang and Bac Ninh near Ha Noi will start operation to produce consumer electronics, computer components and parts in this first quarter and will need approximately 30,000 staff.

Hon Hai, which has been expanding its production facilities globally, makes iPods for Apple Incorporated, desktop computers as well as components for Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Sony.

Analysts reported that the lower labor costs, geographic location and tax incentives in Viet Nam were the key reasons Hon Hai planned to expand in the country.
