VietNamNet Bridge - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has contributed US$9 million to Vietnam and Mexico to carry out two-year pilot traffic safety programmes, said the World Health Ogranisation (WHO).
Road traffic injury prevention programmes, funded through the Bloomberg Family Foundation, will be piloted in Mexico and Vietnam, with a focus on increasing the use of motorcycle helmets, seat-belts and child restraints; reducing drink-driving; and improving the visibility of pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. |

VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese film "Chuyen cua Pao" (Pao's Story) will be shown at a series of international films to be staged in the Asia-Pacific.
 | | "Pao's Story" will also be a competitive entrant in the Asia-Pacific Film Festival. | The acclaimed, epic will be run at the Bangkok International Film Festival from July 25-27 along with another homegrown piece, "Dong mau anh hung" (The Rebels).
"Pao's Story" will also be a competitive entrant in the Asia-Pacific Film Festival to be held in Australia from August 2-12 and the Brisbane Film Festival from August 3-6. |

VietNamNet Bridge - The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held a press briefing in Hanoi on July 6 to announce the 48th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which will be held in Vietnam for the first time from July 25-26.
The organizing board said around 600 contestants from 100 countries and territories will take part in the IMO.
